The mission of the University of Idaho Extension is to provide youth, adults, and communities with life-long learning opportunities that encourage the application of research-supported information and leadership skills.
The University of Idaho, Idaho County Extension Office strives to achieve this mission by providing educational programs in agriculture, 4-H youth development, family living and community development. These programs are conducted by the following dedicated Extension professionals:
Jim Church
Jim provides education for commercial livestock producers. Specialties include beef cattle production, marketing, and management. Jim also manages the animal science program for Idaho County. Jim is in Grangeville with University of Idaho, Idaho County Extension. 208-983-2667 jchurch@uidaho.edu
Mary Schmidt

Susie Heckman
Susie provides the organizational framework for the 4-H Youth Development Program in Idaho County by coordinating local 4-H activities, organizing and conducting leader training classes, working with adult volunteer leaders and youth members, and providing educational program resources. Alana Lyons
Alana serves as the University of Idaho, Idaho County Extension Office Manager and receptionist. Alana is the friendly voice on the phone or the smiling face that you see if you call or drop by the Extension Office. Alana provides assistance with 4-H program materials for clubs, helps out at various 4-H events and activities, coordinates the publishing of all extension newsletters and helps direct client calls and inquiries.Alana can be reached by calling 208-983-2667. idaho@uidaho.edu |
