You must register if you have:

  • Never registered before
  • Changed your name
  • Moved to a different address; or
  • Not voted within the last four (4) years.
    Registration is subject to dates on the Local Election Calendar

Eligibility, you must:

  • Be a U.S. citizen
  • Be a resident of Idaho and Idaho County for thirty (30) days preceding the election; and
  • Have reached eighteen (18) years of age.

Absentee Voting

Idaho law provides for absentee voting for registered voters.

Voters who wish to vote early, or will be unable to vote at their precinct in the upcoming elections, may vote by mail or at the Election's Department.
Absentee/early voting traditionally begins three to six weeks prior to election dates. Call (208) 983-2751 to confirm dates.

Those wishing to vote absentee by mail must first submit an Application for Absent Elector's Ballot form or request by letter including your name, address, and the address you would like the ballot to be mailed to.  The request must be received by our office 6 days prior to the election dayThe request letter must include your signature(s).  All parties requesting a ballot form must sign the letter of request. The completed application can be delivered by mail, or in person, to Idaho County Elections Department, 320 West Main Street, Rm 5, Grangeville Idaho 83530.
