DUST ABATEMENT INFORMATION

Dust abatement comes in several types of products along with different prices and diverse methods of application. The following list provides some information on what is available from vendors who provide services in Idaho County.

ATLAS - 208 743-5596

Atlas supplies and distributes a Mag-Chloride product that is generally the lowest priced dust abatement. However, this product requires high moisture content on the surface of the road prior to application.

The cost of this product is approximately $91.00 per ton. Example: 400' of road, approximately 18' wide would require about 2.2 tons of product. Other charges that may apply are transportation and application fees. For additional information, contact Mel at Atlas.

LYMAN DUST CONTROL - 800 952-6457

Lyman supplies and distributes a asphalt based penetrating product that is expensive to apply, however, has superior longevity on the road surface, has good binding qualities, and creates a hard road surface. Another plus for this product is the road surface has to be dry at time of application saving other costs such as watering and grading prior to application.

The cost of this product is a flat rate of $1.20 per liner foot of road surface applied to. Other fees may be charged due to rising costs of transport and application. For additional information contact Darcy at the above listed number.

DRIVEWAY ICE & DUST - 208 983-0086

This is a local vendor based out of the Grangeville area. I do not know much about his products other than it is a combination mag-chloride and emulsion based product. I do not have any experience with this company's dust abatement products.

For further information on products and pricing, contact Tony Kriner, at the above number.
